Privacy Policy

Last updated: 21 September 2026

This policy explains what personal information Spike Marketing collects through spikemarketingagency.com, why we collect it, and what we do with it. We have tried to write it in plain language rather than legal boilerplate.

Who we are

Spike Marketing is a digital marketing agency operating remotely from Alberta, Canada, working with businesses across the United States and Canada. For anything in this policy, contact Sarah at sarah@spike-marketing.com.

What we collect

Information you give us through a form. Our contact form collects your name, email address, phone number (optional) and your message. Our free AI visibility report form collects your business name, website, city and state, email address, what your business does, and a phone number if you choose to give one. We only ask for what we need to reply to you or to build the report you asked for.

Information collected automatically. Like most websites, ours records standard technical information when you visit: IP address, browser and device type, the pages you view, how you arrived, and how long you stay. This comes through Google Analytics and our web host’s server logs.

We do not collect payment details through this website, and we do not ask for sensitive personal information.

How we use it

  • To reply to your enquiry and, where you asked for one, to research and send your visibility report
  • To follow up once by email about a report we sent you
  • To understand which pages and sources bring people to the site, so we can improve it
  • To meet our legal and accounting obligations

We do not sell your information, we do not rent it, and we do not add you to a marketing list because you asked for a report. If we ever want to send you a newsletter, we will ask first.

Who we share it with

We share personal information only with the service providers we need to run the business, and only so they can perform that service for us:

  • Our web host and email provider, who store and deliver form submissions
  • Google Analytics, for website traffic measurement
  • Our customer relationship management system, where enquiries and client records are kept

We may also disclose information if we are legally required to. Otherwise, we do not pass your details to anyone else.

Cookies and analytics

This site uses Google Analytics, which sets cookies to recognise returning visitors and measure how the site is used. These cookies do not identify you by name to us. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or install Google’s Analytics opt-out browser add-on. Blocking them will not stop you using the site.

How long we keep it

Form submissions and the correspondence that follows are kept for as long as we may reasonably need them — typically up to three years after our last contact, or longer where a client relationship or a legal obligation requires it. Analytics data is retained according to Google’s standard settings. You can ask us to delete your information sooner.

Where your information is processed

We operate from Canada and work with clients in the United States. Your information may be stored and processed in either country, and by service providers based there. Different privacy laws apply in each, and by contacting us you accept that your information may be handled outside your own country.

Your choices

You can ask us to tell you what personal information we hold about you, correct anything that is wrong, delete it, or stop contacting you. Email sarah@spike-marketing.com and we will respond within 30 days. There is no charge, and asking will not affect how we treat you.

Security

The site runs over an encrypted connection (HTTPS) and access to enquiry data is limited to people who need it. No website can promise perfect security, but we take reasonable steps to protect what you send us.

Children

This site is intended for business owners and is not directed at anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle personal information, we will update this page and change the date at the top. Material changes will be made clear rather than buried.
